China has once again made a groundbreaking feat in construction by erecting a 10-story building in just 28 hours.
The Chinese construction company, Broad Group, achieved this impressive milestone in 2021.It is located in Changsha, China, and is also known as the “Living Building.
It sprouted from the ground at an astonishing pace thanks to prefabricated modular units. These prefabricated units, essentially self-contained rooms built in advance, were carefully transported by skilled workers and then fitted into place by cranes.
Delivering the building materials presents a challenge, but the process offers several advantages, including reduced time, cost, and potentially improved earthquake resistance.
According to the building’s architects/engineering team, “This building has been built with earthquake safety in mind. Seismic considerations were a priority during the design and construction process. While no building is entirely earthquake-proof, the building’s structure incorporates features to help it withstand seismic activity. In addition, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the building’s emergency procedures in case of an earthquake.”
