Underwater train? In 2018, whispers emerged about a revolutionary transportation project in the Middle East.
The UAE, known for its audacious ventures, proposed a 1,200 km underwater train connecting Dubai to Mumbai, India. Imagine zipping between the two bustling cities while cruising beneath the waves!
Similar to this project, we have the Channel underwater tunnel connecting UK and France, which is only 33 kms (20 miles) which is a drop in the ocean compared the Dubai- Mumbai route.
This concept, however, comes with hefty challenges. Building and maintaining such a colossal underwater track across vast distances would require groundbreaking technology. The financial burden would be immense as well.
While the initial announcement sparked excitement, there haven’t been any official updates confirming the project’s progress. As of today, the underwater bullet train remains an intriguing proposal, a glimpse into a future of high-tech travel, but not something we’ll be boarding anytime soon.
