Trolltunga, also known as “The Troll’s Tongue,” is a breathtaking natural rock formation in Norway. It’s a horizontal slab of rock that juts out dramatically from a mountainside at an incredible 700 meters above Lake Ringedalsvatnet.

 Hiking to Trolltunga. 

Hiking to Trolltunga is challenging, requiring good physical condition and proper gear. The trail typically takes 8 to 12 hours to complete. The terrain is demanding, with steep ascents and rocky paths. However, the reward is unparalleled. “The view from Trolltunga is truly exceptional, making the strenuous hike worth every step,” says outdoor adventure guide Lars Johansen.

The Best Time to Visit. 

The best time to visit Trolltunga is during the summer months between June and August. This is when the weather is milder, and the trails are clear of snow. “Summer provides the safest and most enjoyable hiking conditions,” notes travel expert Ingrid Olsen.
