The Gordon dam is a large concrete arc dam located in Tasmania, Australia.
The dam is situated in the southern part of the state and is a major source of Hydroelectricity in the area.
The construction of the Gordon dam took 4 years, from 1974 to 1978 at an approximate cost of 400 million Australian dollars. The dam is 140 meters high, and 192 meters wide at the base.
Gordon dam has become a popular tourist attraction, with visitors able to take a guided tour to the top of the dam and enjoy the view of the impressive structure and the surrounding landscape.
