The cliffside store, also known as the “world’s most inconvenient store,” is a small wooden box located in Shiniuzhai National Geological Park, Hunan Province, China. Hanging at a staggering height of 120 meters (393 feet), it serves refreshments for climbers scaling the cliff’s face. Workers use zip lines to restock the store, creating a unique experience.
According to experts, “The cliffside store location and method of operation make it a truly unique attraction, blending convenience and adventure in a breathtaking setting.”
Opened in April 2018, the store caters to climbers who typically spend 90 minutes ascending the cliff, often becoming thirsty along the way. Despite the challenging climb required to reach it, the store offers a reward of a free bottle of water and snacks for purchase, along with a welcoming view for climbers.
The store gained significant fame in 2022 due to a viral video, amusing and impressing social media users with its innovative concept.
