For over 140 years, cranes have stood alongside spires in the heart of Barcelona. But next year, 2026, the world will finally witness the grand opening of Antoni Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece: La Sagrada Família. Timed to mark the centenary of Gaudí’s death, the event is set to be one of the most anticipated architectural unveilings of the century.

The basilica’s 18 towers, each symbolizing a biblical figure, will at last rise in their intended form, with the central Tower of Jesus Christ reaching 172.5 meters — making it the tallest church in the world.

From the streets, the anticipation is electric.

“It’s like watching history carved in stone, day by day. To think we will finally see Gaudí’s vision realized is unbelievable.” — Marta Rovira, Barcelona resident

Inside, the colored light filtering through stained glass already transforms the nave into something otherworldly. When the final towers are crowned, the full harmony of Gaudí’s design — a blend of Gothic roots and natural forms — will stand complete.

“I have traveled the world, but nowhere else do architecture and spirituality merge so seamlessly. It feels alive.” — Daniel Hughes, visitor from Ireland

Beyond its architectural wonder, the opening will draw global pilgrims, artists, and leaders, making Barcelona the stage of a cultural and spiritual milestone.

🌟⛪ In 2026, La Sagrada Família will no longer be a work in progress — it will be the completed dream of a genius finally shared with the world.
