The lake is renowned for its stunning natural phenomenon, where intricate tree-like patterns emerge on its surface, creating a breathtaking scene. This has captured the attention of nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.

The amazing pattern is formed when rain causes tea tree oil from the surrounding vegetation to seep into the lake’s drainage system channels.

As the water recedes, the oil, being less dense than water, is left behind in the crevices, creating this intricate pattern that resembles the branches and roots of a tree.

The patterns are constantly shifting and evolving with the tides and weather, adding to the lake’s mystique.
“Lake Cakora offers a fascinating display of nature’s artistry,” says environmental scientist Dr. Emily Harding. “The combination of natural oils and water movement creates an ever-changing pattern that feels almost otherworldly.”
