From Shipping Container to Two-Story Retreat
The project was designed and built by the Latham family, who wanted to create a peaceful escape that connects people with nature. The container was cut in half at an angle, transforming one half into a cozy ground-floor living space and the other into an elevated bedroom with amazing views of the bushland.
Large glass windows and open decks bring in natural light and allow guests to enjoy the landscape from every angle. The design keeps a simple, industrial charm while feeling modern and warm.
Sustainable and Scenic Living
The cabin runs on solar power and operates as a bed and breakfast, giving visitors a chance to experience eco-friendly living in comfort. Its location near Wangi Falls and other highlights of Litchfield National Park makes it a perfect base for exploring waterfalls, swimming holes, and trails.
